Root Canals

31Root canal treatment has saved countless patients from pain and discomfort, and it can save you, too! Sometimes, a injured, cracked, or decayed tooth can lead to a destroyed pulp, which causes constant toothache and sensitivity.

The pulp of the tooth is the soft inner portion that contains all of the nerves and blood vessels. If bacteria leaks through a crack into a pulp, the pulp can become damaged beyond repair.

Our endodontic treatment focuses on removing this inner portion of the tooth and restoring the tooth to its proper function. We want our patients to feel comfortable and able at all times.

Symptoms to Watch Out for

Some of the symptoms that may indicate that you are in need of a root canal include:

  • Frequent tooth or gum pain
  • Discoloration of the area
  • Extra sensitivity to hot or cold
  • Tooth that is tender to the touch
  • Pus drainage in the mouth
  • Swelling of the lymph nodes

If you are experiencing any of the discomforts listed above, come see Dr. Agarwal for a thorough examination. She will ensure that you are benefitting from the healthiest teeth and gums possible.

What Does a Root Canal Include?

During a root canal, Dr. Agarwal will provide you with a local anesthetic so that the procedure is anxiety-free. She will remove the pulp through a small hole in the tooth and clean out the root canals.

Finally, Dr. Agarwal will fill the tooth with a rubbery material and seal it with a filling to prevent future problems. Shortly after your treatment, your regular bite force will be restored to the tooth.

Your root canal will relieve all of your pain and has the potential to last a lifetime. Call us today to learn more about root canal treatment or to have an examination.
